Vicki has a unique employment law practice. She conducts objective and independent workplace investigations for private and public sector employers throughout the state. She also counsels clients who handle their own investigations internally by helping them plan investigations, analyze evidence consistent with federal, state and local law, and prepare reports. Vicki takes pride in helping employers meet their obligation to conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations of workplace issues.

Vicki’s investigation practice is informed by her long and distinguished career as a trial attorney and employment law counselor. Vicki spent over thirty-five years as a partner in a large Fort Myers law firm. She is one of a small number of Florida lawyers to achieve dual Board Certifications by the Florida Bar in Civil Trial (1991- 2021) and Labor and Employment (2012 -2017). She has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers magazine for her work in employment law. She was honored as 2017 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Southwest Florida Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates for her distinguished career and superb reputation for high ethics and fair play. She is also AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating available for legal ability and ethics.

Vicki was the founding member of Sproat Workplace Investigations, one of the first law firms in Florida to devote its practice exclusively to conducting third party impartial workplace investigations. Over her legal career, Vicki has conducted and managed hundreds of sensitive and complex investigations for public and private sector employers and their counsel. She has investigated (and litigated) claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, fraud, bullying, policy violations, regulatory misconduct, and other allegations of workplace wrongdoing.

Vicki earned her bachelor’s degree from Denison University and her law degree from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Vicki is also a graduate of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Training Institute for Workplace Investigators and is an AWI Certificate Holder (AWI-CH).

When not working, Vicki tries to exercise despite her preference for more sedentary activities involving family, friends, and a glass of wine.
