COVID-19: Families First Coronavirus Response Act Lunch and Learn Webinar
Together with SHRM SWFL, we hosted a free webinar regarding the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. You can download the presentation here: COVID-19 March 24, 2020 revised.** If you would like to sign up to receive future alerts and invitations to our seminars/webinars, please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
**This webinar took place on March 24, 2020, prior to the Department of Labor issuing guidance making the effective date of the E-FMLA and E-PSLA April 1, 2020 instead of April 2, 2020. We have updated the PowerPoint accordingly, but the audio from the webinar will still note April 2 as the effective date.**
COVID-19 Alert: Families First Coronavirus Response Act
On March 18, 2020, President Trump signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act
(“Families First Act”), which aims to address the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 on workers nationwide. Although there are many provisions in the Families First Act, there are two of primary interest to employers: the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act and the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act. These requirements become effective no later than April 2, 2020,* so employers should start preparing now. For more information, please download our full alert: BAP COVID-19 Alert.
**This Alert was issued prior to the Department of Labor issuing guidance making April 1, 2020 the effective date of the E-FMLA and E-PSLA. Covered employers must begin providing leave under E-FMLA and E-PSLA effective April 1, 2020.**
